About me
I am a graduate student pursuing my Ph.D. in Computer Science at Katholieke Universiteit Leuven. My research focus is on algorithms for cross-media and cross-lingual alignment of equivalent content. I work under Professor Marie-Francine Moens. I did my undergraduate work at College of Information Technology - Cantho University and my Master's work in here, Katholieke Universiteit Leuven.Research
My research focuses on designing, implementing and evaluating algorithms for cross-media (textual and visual data) alignment. My research also investigates the models for cross-lingual alignment that focuses on the alignment of equivalent content across texts written in different languages. Generative and discriminative learning techniques for text alignment will be studied for their suitability and will be adapted for the cross-media task. The research also regards content recognition of the visual and textual medium that is reinforced by their mutual and integrated processing (e.g. by using clustering with the Expectation Maximization algorithm or simulated annealing algorithms). The degree of supervision and the incorporation of extra knowledge will be varied in the experiments. The research will be applied and evaluated in a cross-media and cross-lingual summarization system for news data (text-image data found on the World Wide Web and broadcasted video data) developed within the research group.Research projects
