Research

I'm a professor at the Department of Computer Science, University of Leuven, since October 2001. My research takes place in the computer graphics group. I got my Ph.D. from the same department in 1996, and I was a postdoctoral associate for 3 years (1998-2001) at the Program of Computer Graphics at Cornell University.

Main Research Interests:

  • Image-based relighting algorithms.
  • Global Illumination: perception-based, real-time, complex visibility, bidirectional transport, mathematical frameworks
  • Point-based graphics.
  • Texture Synthesis & Procedural textures
Papers, Publications, ... Global Illumination Compendium
Global Illumination Compendium - an ongoing effort of collecting the most useful equations and formulas for global illumination in a single document.
