It is one of the major international forums for academia, industry, and government to discuss research results, advancements and future trends in computer and software technologies and applications. The technical program includes keynote addresses, research papers, industrial case studies, panel discussions, fast abstracts, doctoral symposium, poster sessions, and a number of workshops on emerging important topics. COMPSAC is a unique forum to bring together all facets of computing world and their major stakeholders. Building on the themes of highly successful recent COMPSAC conferences, the main theme of the 36th conference is "Trustworthy Software Systems for the Digital Society". Creating the digital society calls for all aspects of computing, software development, software systems engineering, and applications. To sustain it, however, trust in systems is of paramount importance, thus the need for trustworthy software systems. Foundations, methodologies, architectures, and mechanisms that support modeling, design, implementation, and evaluation of trustworthy software systems and applications are of great concern. Conference Venue: Swissôtel Grand Efes, Izmir, a member of “The Leading Hotels of the World”, set in 40 thousand square meters of landscaped gardens, is a five-star deluxe hotel located in the heart of the Izmir’s commercial hub and overlooking the spectacular Kordon Promenade, on Turkey's Aegean Sea. Topics of interest (Tracks) --------------------------- * Software life cycle, evolution, and maintenance * Requirements engineering * Formal methods * Software architecture and design * Software testing * Reliability, metrics, and fault tolerance * HCI and usability * Security * Real-time and embedded systems * Mobile & pervasive computing * Smart computing * Web semantics * Web services and systems * Cloud computing * Education and learning * Applications Paper Guidelines ---------------- Authors are invited to submit original, unpublished research work as well as industrial practices. Simultaneous submissions to other publication venues are not permitted. Detailed instructions for electronic paper submission, panel and workshop proposals, fast abstracts, poster papers, doctoral symposium, and review process is available at www.compsac.org. New! An alternative approach for the presentation of ongoing projects/new work or activities of interest to participants will be made by the Poster Session. An area on the conference premises will be designated for the presentation of posters which will be exhibited from July 17 to 19, 2012. Poster presenters are expected to bring their printed poster and handouts and stay during the entire session. Attendees will browse the posters and directly interact with the presenters. Thus, the poster session is intended to be an informal, conversational forum for new ideas. The length of the camera-ready of an accepted regular (full) paper and industry paper will be limited to 10 IEEE-proceedings-style pages using 10-12 point fonts. Short papers and workshop papers are limited to 6 pages, fast abstracts to 2 pages, and posters to 1 page. Please follow the IEEE Computer Society Press Proceedings Author Guidelines to prepare your paper. Each accepted paper (regular, short, industry, workshop, fast abstract) is required to be registered at full rate by one of its authors. The reduced registration rates for posters and doctoral symposium papers may have some limited privilege during the conference. All accepted papers will be published in the electronic proceedings by the IEEE Computer Society. In order to enable indexing through INSPEC and EI Index, and inclusion in the IEEE digital library, a paper must be presented in person by one of its authors. Best Paper and Best Student Paper Awards will be presented by COMPSAC 2012. The first author of the best student paper must be a full-time student. Doctoral Symposium papers and posters are encouraged with reduced registration rate. Authors of the best technical contributions will be invited to submit extended version of their papers for possible publication in reputable journals. --------------- Important Dates --------------- Main Conference Papers and Industry Paper Deadlines --------------------------------------------------- January 15, 2012: Abstracts due January 31, 2012: Full papers due April 2, 2012: Paper notifications May 2, 2012: Camera-ready copy and registration due Satellite Workshops and Panels Deadlines ---------------------------------------- December 8, 2011: Workshop and panel proposals due March 15, 2012: Workshop papers due April 2, 2012: Workshop paper notifications May 2, 2012: Camera-ready copy and registration due Fast Abstracts, Posters, Doctoral Symposium Paper Deadlines ------------------------------------------------------- April 20, 2012: Fast abstract, poster, and doctoral symposium papers due May 2, 2012: Fast abstracts, posters, and doctoral symposium papers notifications May 16, 2012: Camera-ready copy and registration due Submission ---------- Upload papers in PDF format at www.compsac.org.
