Call for Papers

The 2010 International Conference on Computational Science and Its
Applications

ICCSA 2010

Faculty of Information Science, Kyushu Sangyo University, Fukuoka, Japan

March 23 - 26 2010
http://www.iccsa.org

The 2010 International Conference on Computational Science and Its
Applications (ICCSA 2010) will be held on March 23-26, 2010, at Kyushu
Sangyo University, Fukuoka, Japan.

ICCSA 2010 is the next event in the series of highly successful
International Conferences on Computational Science and Its Applications,
previously held in Suwon, Korea (2009), Perugia, Italy (2008), Kuala
Lumpur, Malaysia (2007), Glasgow, United Kingdom (2006), Singapore
(2005), Assisi, Italy (2004), Montreal, Canada (2003), and, as ICCS, in
Amsterdam, The Netherlands (2002) and San Francisco (2001).

Computational Science is a main pillar of most of the present research,
industrial and commercial activities and plays a unique role in
exploiting ICT innovative technologies.
The ICCSA Conference offers a real opportunity to bring together
scientists of different disciplines, discuss new issues, tackle complex
problems and find advanced solutions breeding new trends in
Computational Science.

For this reason prospective authors are invited to submit papers, either
to the General Tracks, to the Workshops/Sessions or Poster Sessions. The
papers are categorized as follows:
General Tracks/Theme Papers: 10 to 16 pages. After the reviewing
process, the accepted papers will be published in the Springer-Verlag
Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS) volumes.
Workshop/Session Papers: 5 to 11 pages. After the reviewing process, the
accepted papers will be published in the IEEE Computer Society
proceedings, as selected by the corresponding Session/Workshop. The list
and details of the different Workshops/Sessions can be found through
this link: http://www.iccsa.org/sessions
Poster Session Papers: 3 to 4 pages. After the reviewing process, the
accepted poster papers will be published in the IEEE Computer Society
proceedings. Accepted Poster papers will be presented as posters during
the conference.
All papers submitted to the General Tracks of ICCSA 2010 will be
published in LNCS.

Paper Submission
GENERAL TRACKS PAPERS:
The submitted paper must be camera-ready, between 10 and 16 pages long
and formatted according to the LNCS rules. Please consult the URL
http://www.iccsa.org/authors-instructions for formatting information and
templates.

SESSION PAPERS:
The submitted paper must be camera-ready, between 5 and 11 pages long
and formatted according to the IEEE Computer Society rules. Please
consult the URL http://www.iccsa.org/authors-instructions for formatting
information and templates.

POSTER PAPERS:
The submitted paper must be camera-ready, between 3 and 4 pages long and
formatted according to the IEEE Computer Society rules. Please consult
the URL http://www.iccsa.org/authors-instructions for formatting
information and templates.

To submit a paper, please connect to the Submission site from the link
available at the ICCSA 2010 web site. Only papers submitted through the
electronic system and strictly adhering to the relevant format will be
considered for reviewing and publication.

The paper must deal with original and unpublished work, not submitted
for publication elsewhere (copyright problems fall entirely under
responsibility of the authors). Each paper will be reviewed by at least
three experts in the relevant field (acceptance rate was 28% in 2005,
26% in 2006 and 28% in 2007, 29% in 2008, 30% in 2009) ensuring the
publication of only top quality contributions.

Call for Session Proposals

We invite you to submit a proposal for organizing a Session at:

The 2010 International Conference for Computational Science

                and Its Applications (ICCSA 2010)

to be held at Kyushu Sangyo University, Fukuoka (Japan)

                  on March 23 -26, 2010

                   http://www.iccsa.org

Session proposals for Workshop or Technical Sessions will be collected
until August 28, 2009 (extended) and notified before August 30, 2009.
The Session proposals should be sent to the e-mail address:

              session_proposal <at> iccsa.org

and should include the following information:

- Title of the session

- Name, affiliation, mailing address and e-mail address of the
proposer(s)

- Previous experience of the proposer in organizing sessions name,
affiliation, and e-mail addresses of at least three colleagues of the
proposer(s) who can comment on his (their) ability to organize the
session. The organization of successful sessions in previous editions of
ICCSA (minimal no-show up, several discussions and questions after
presentations), including the participation of the session chairs to the
Conference, will rank the proposal at top for acceptance.

- Description of the topic of the session (not exceeding 100 words)

- Detailed list (name, role and organization) of the Program Committee
members and of the additional reviewers (if external to the program
committee)

- The editor (LNCS or IEEE-CS) selected for the proposed session

- A short description on how the session will be advertised.

The information provided by the proposer(s) to the Conference Chairs
shall remain strictly confidential.

The Session Chairs are responsible for all the organizational aspects
including soliciting, reviewing and selection of Session papers.
Session chairs are also fully responsible for ensuring that only high
quality papers are selected and for verifying the correctness of the
layout adopted by the authors. They are also responsible for choosing
the actual reviewers (at least three) of each paper and for monitoring
the reviewing process, in collaboration with the Conference Program
Chairs.

Session Chairs (or their Deputies) are expected to attend ICCSA 2010,
set the order of presentations and chair related sessions.

The nature of the Sessions (Workshop or Technical Session) will be
determined after the reviewing phase according to the number of accepted
papers. Technical Sessions are collections of 5 oral contributions
having a homogeneous subject. Workshops are a collection of Technical
Sessions having strictly related subject. Workshops have a length not
shorter than two technical sessions and no longer than 11 technical
sessions.

Due to their active role, Session chairs will benefit of a reduced
conference registration fee (the reduction depending on the number and
quality of attracted papers).

Proceedings:

The proceedings will be published on a special issue of the Lecture
Notes on Computer Science (LNCS) edited by Springer and in a book
published bu IEEE Computer Society (IEEE-CS). It is up to the Session
Chairs to select which Editor her/he/they select(s) for their session
(the cross publication on the two Editors for a given Session is not
allowed). General Track papers will be published on LNCS.

ICCSA 2010 will accept also Posters, that will be exhibited during the
Conference in dedicated areas. The posters will be published under the
form of extended abstracts (3 pages). In this way ICCSA intends to
promote the collaboration among scientists and the sharing of knowledge
even if the addressed research work is not still mature enough to be
described in a full paper.

Please refer to the Call for Papers available at the address
www.iccsa.org/call-for-papers for detailed information about Posters and
Full Papers.
