Dear member,

An Extraordinary General Assembly of Ada-Belgium will take place at

on Monday, October 16, 2006 at 8:00 pm.

The Agenda of the G.A. is:

1. Introductory word
2. Modification of the statutes to conform to the new Belgian laws for non-profit organizations (vote)
3. Varia

As all non-profit organizations in Belgium, we need to review and update our statutes to conform to the new laws for non-profit organizations. A draft version of the revised Ada-Belgium statutes was already sent to all members for informal review. Note that the "spirit" of the statutes was not changed. The proposed final version of the new statutes was distributed before the Ada-Belgium 2006 General Assembly in June, and is available on-line: both the official Dutch version, and an English translation for info.

To vote on these statutes at the June G.A., it was important to have as many Ada-Belgium members present or represented, as we had to reach a quorum of 2/3 of the membership. Unfortunately, we came a few votes short. Therefore, in order to decide on the new statutes, an Extraordinary G.A. is needed. No quorum requirement applies at that meeting. If you cannot attend, please feel free to arrange to vote by proxy.
