Dear member,

The 13th General Assembly of Ada-Belgium will take place at

on Tuesday, June 20, 2006 at 6:45 pm. followed by a technical presentation at 7:45 pm.

The Draft Agenda of the G.A. is:

1. Introductory word
2. Presentation of the work conducted during 2005
3. Approval of the balance for 2005 (vote)
4. Discussion about the activities to be organized in 2007
5. Approval of the budget for 2007 (vote)
6. Conditional adjustment of the membership fee for 2007 (vote)
7. Modification of the statutes to conform to the new Belgian laws for non-profit organizations (vote)
8. Choice of the size of the Board (vote)
9. Presentation of the candidates for the Board
10. Election of the Board (vote)
11. Varia

As all non-profit organizations in Belgium, we need to review and update our statutes to be conformant with the new laws for non-profit organizations. A draft version of the revised Ada-Belgium statutes was already sent to all members for informal review. Note that the "spirit" of the statutes was not changed. The proposed final version of the new statutes is now available: both the official Dutch version, and an English translation for info.

To vote on these statutes at the G.A., it is important to have as many Ada-Belgium members present or represented, as we need to reach a quorum of 2/3 of the membership. So please make every effort possible to be present. If you really cannot attend, please arrange to vote by proxy.

The mandates of the following Board members end: Dirk Craeynest, Karel De Vlaminck, and Francis Germain. They may be re-elected for a 2-year mandate, but they have to apply for re-election formally. Karel De Vlaminck and Francis Germain both informed the board that they do not want to stand for re-election. Danny Beullens and Dirk Craeynest informed the board that they want to stand for election.

Ada-Belgium is a volunteer organization and as such needs active members. Notwithstanding the above candidatures, any member who is willing to join the Board is hereby invited to apply for election. All candidates should notify their desire before Thursday June 15 2006 to the Ada-Belgium Secretary (see header).

Members willing to add items to the agenda are invited to do so also before Thursday June 15 2006, at the same address as above.

If you have not yet renewed your existing affiliation, please make the necessary payment of your membership fee before the General Assembly, in accordance with the invoice that was also sent via postal mail.

Note: At 6 pm, there will be an informal "pre-meeting" for Ada-Belgium members (see web-site). At 7:45 pm, after the General Assembly, Tullio Vardanega of the University of Padua, Italy, will give a technical presentation entitled "Correctness by construction: UML2 profile enforcing the Ravenscar Computational Model". Everybody is welcome; the event is free and presentations are in English.
