2004 Ada-Belgium General Assembly

Dear member,

The 11th General Assembly of Ada-Belgium will take place at

the U.L.B., Department of Computer Science
Campus de la Plaine, building NO, Solvay room (5th floor)
Boulevard du Triomphe / Triomflaan, B-1050 Brussels
on Thursday, March 18 2004 at 7 pm. followed by a technical presentation at 8 pm.
(For logistical reasons, the G.A. exceptionally couldn't be held in February as usual, but had to be planned slightly later.)

The Agenda of the G.A. has been fixed as follows :

  1. Introductory word
  2. Presentation of the work conducted during 2003
  3. Approval of the balance for 2003 (vote)
  4. Discussion about the activities to be organized in 2004
  5. Approval of the budget for 2004 (vote)
  6. Conditional adjustment of the membership fee for 2005 (vote)
  7. Choice of the size of the Board (vote)
  8. Presentation of the candidates for the Board
  9. Election of the Board (vote)
  10. Varia

The 2-year mandates of the following Board members end: Dirk Craeynest, Karel De Vlaminck, and Francis Germain. They may be re-elected but they have to apply for re-election formally. In addition, Andrew Hately, who was re-elected last year, moved for professional reasons to another country and hence resigned from the board.

Ada-Belgium is a volunteer organization and as such needs active members. Any Ada-Belgium member who is willing to join the Board is hereby invited to apply for election. All candidates should notify their desire before Friday March 12 2004 to the Ada-Belgium Secretary (see header).

Members willing to add items to the agenda are invited to do so also before Friday March 12 2004, at the same address as above.

If you have not yet renewed your existing affiliation, please make the necessary payment of your membership fee before the General Assembly, in accordance with the invoice that is also sent via postal mail.

Note: At 6:15pm, there will be an informal "pre-meeting" for Ada-Belgium members (see web-site). At 8pm, after the General Assembly, Pascal Leroy of IBM France will give for all those interested a technical presentation entitled "An Invitation to Ada 2005". See the separate announcement for more information.

Everybody is welcome; the event is free.
