The SPICE User Group is pleased to announce the second International SPICE
Conference, to be held in Venice, Italy from 14-15 March 2002. This
Conference follows on the success of the SPICE 2000 conference, and builds
upon the achievements of the International SPICE Symposia held on a regular
basis since 1994.

Papers related to the topics of Software Process Improvement and Capability
dEtermination, based upon the use of ISO/IEC 15504, are invited for the
conference.

Topics of interest include but are not limited to:

· Case study reports on the use of ISO/IEC 15504 for process
improvement;
· Case study reports on the use of ISO/IEC 15504 for process
capability determination;
· Methods, models and tools to support software process
assessment;
·           Emerging Process Reference Models;
· Benchmarking based upon capability assessment as a foundation
for process improvement;
· Relationships between different approaches to software process
assessment;
· Theoretical considerations on the basis of the technique of
process assessment.

One of the basic intentions of this conference is to offer a forum for
discussion and exchange of experience in the use of process assessment in
the contexts of improvement and capability determination. For this reason
practitioners involved in use of process assessment are invited not only to
join the conference but also to contribute by submitting papers or
presenting innovative tools or solutions.
