There will be a tutorial on HOOD at the Ada-Europe conference.

HOOD (Hierarchical Object Oriented Design) is the preferred method for
the European Space Agency projects, and has been succesfully used in
various other domains, like transportation, nuclear plants, etc. It is
an object oriented method, and the latest issue covers Ada95,
inheritance, real-time, etc. It focuses on mastering complexity,
separating concerns, mastering documentation, and more. There is a
competitive market of supporting tools.

Don't forget to register ASAP! For more information, see
http://www.ada-europe.org/conference2000.html (or drop me a note).

Two major events regarding the HOOD design method will take place during the
Reliable Software Technologies (Ada-Europe) conference, in Potsdam (near
Berlin), Germany:

1) Monday, June 26: A tutorial describing the latest issue of the method,
HOOD 4. This tutorial is intended for people without prior knowledge of
HOOD. Information about this tutorial, or the conference in general, can be
found at http://www.ada-europe.org/conference2000.html

2) Friday, June 30: The HOOD User Forum. This is intended for all those with
an interest in Hood, to gather, exchange information and discuss future
evolution of the HOOD method. Information about the HOOD User Forum can be
found at http://pro.wanadoo.fr/adalog/huf/hoodforum.htm

The HOOD method (Hierarchical Object Oriented Design) is a design method
that has been developped initially on behalf of ESA (European Space Agency)
for space projects. It is now used in many fields, including ground
transportation, aerospace, energy... It features an object oriented approach
together with a hierarchical organization that helps limit the complexity
that has to be dealt with at any moment. Strict separation of concerns
allows to design various aspects of a design (like static structure,
real-time aspects, synchronization, etc.) separately.

For any other information about the HOOD method or the HOOD forum, please
