The Ada-Belgium Archive

An enormous amount of Ada related information, compilers, tools, etc., is freely available on several archive sites abroad for electronic transfer.

One of the aims of the Ada-Belgium organization is to disseminate Ada-related information. So, in addition to the organization of seminars, workshops, etc., and the management of two mailing lists, we also have set up such an Ada archive for people and companies in Belgium. This enables everyone interested, to consult and download all this software and documents using an ftp server in Belgium, thus without the need to use (often overloaded) international connections.

The Ada-Belgium ftp-archive is available via the ftp-server of the K.U.Leuven Computer Science Department:

Key items:

Many years ago, Ada-Belgium acquired a CDROM drive, which was made available via ftp. One of the first items provided that way was the first disk of the June 1995 version of the Ada CDROM 2 disk set, i.e. a copy of the Internet's Public Ada Library (PAL) as of April 1995 (1.3 GB of compressed Ada documentation, information, and source code).
This Ada CDROM set is now called the Ada and Software Engineering Library. A disk copy of Version 2 (ASE2) is available via our ftp-archive. See the Ada and Software Engineering Library Version 2 (ASE2) Card Catalog as a convenient starting point.
Due to the large interest in the GNU-Ada compiler GNAT, and the regular release of new versions, we have set up automatically updated mirrors of the original GNAT distribution directory in the Ada-Belgium ftp archive.
The official Ada 95 Reference Manual and Rationale and hypertext versions plus on-line tutorials are also provided, as are the updated Ada 95 Quick Reference Cards.
A mirror for the GW ez2load Ada Compiler and Tutorial Kit for MS-DOS distribution has been added.
A mirror for Mitch Gart's Ada 95 binding to X11R5 was added.
A (partial) mirror for the enormous Public Ada Library at wuarchive.wustl.edu has being set up.
And finally, a directory with Free Ada Software provided by Belgian Ada users is available.

The Ada-Belgium archive is primarily intended for the Belgian Ada community, but anyone interested is welcome to use it. The archive currently contains the above-mentioned material, but we hope to be able to expand it in the near future.
